Mick Schumacher is set to make a return to an F1 car next weekend in the Mercedes W14.

The Brackley-based squad confirmed the news to social media and it's safe to say fans seem very excited about it. They posted:

"Next week in Barcelona = #F1Testing with Pirelli. George will drive on Tuesday, @SchumacherMick will get his first laps in the W14 on Wednesday."

One fan responded with excitement, writing:

"Pleaseeeee tell me there's gonna be a lot of content about Mick's test I'm begging you admin"

Someone else was very happy to see the German driver make a return:

"YYESSSSS!!! HAPPY TO SEE MICK BACK ON THE GRID EVEN FOR TESTING!!!"

Schumacher lost his seat with Haas at the end of the 2022 season after two seasons with the team. Unfortunately, he was not able to secure another permanent seat for the 2023 season. However, Mercedes confirmed ahead of the New Year that they had signed Schumacher as their reserve driver for 2023.

The German driver is keen to make a full-time return for 2024 and has indicated that he has already received some interest from a few teams, although no announcements have been made yet.

Another excited fan commented on the news:

"I'm really looking forward to seeing Mick in the W14. Thank you team"

Another fan commented on the same post on Instagram, hopeful that Schumacher will put in a good performance to take a seat for 2024. They posted:

"Time to one up the main drivers and get a full time seat!"

Someone else was sharing the excitement of others, commenting:

"This is the Moment, everyone has been waiting for, you driving a Mercedes F1 Car"
