F1 News: Penalties For Nyck De Vries and Kevin Magnussen For Austrian Grand Prix
A recent report from the FIA reveals that Nyck de Vries and Kevin Magnussen will be forced to begin the Austrian Grand Prix from the pit lane after changes were made to their cars under parc ferme conditions.
With them originally starting in P19 and P20, this isn't such a disruptive move from AlphaTauri and Haas, with both cars making changes to improve their potential performance.
The AlphaTauri of Nyck de Vries has had a new rear wing and beam wing and suspension changes were also made to the car under parc ferme conditions, watched over by officials as per the regulations.
Kevin Magnussen's Haas on the other hand has undergone setup changes,
Kevin is currently in 18th place in the driver standings with 2 points to his name, where Nyck is 19th with no points only ahead of American driver Logan Sargeant. Both drivers will be wanting to maximise their performance today after both teams learnt from the sprint race yesterday which consisted of 24 laps.
So while this sounds like a huge disappointment for both drivers, both will be starting now in a stronger position than expected.
