These allegations, brought to light by a colleague and subsequently reported by De Telegraaf, have led to an internal investigation that remains unresolved, fueling rampant speculation.

The situation has prompted comments from key figures within the Red Bull hierarchy. Dr. Helmut Marko, an advisor to Red Bull, recently spoke out against the flurry of rumours. 

In a statement to Red Bull’s ServusTV, Marko expressed confidence in the team's handling of the matter. 

"The sooner a result is available, the better because, of course, rumours and other stories are bound to sprout due to the long duration," he noted, adding that "Red Bull has reacted very well in this matter."

Amidst the swirling rumours, Christian Horner himself has been forthright in his denial of the allegations. 

In a conversation with Sky Sports' Craig Slater, Horner addressed the speculation head-on.

"No, it’s business as usual," Horner stated.

In a pre-season testing press conference, he added:

“There is a process underway and since I am part of it, I cannot comment on it,” he admitted. “We hope there is a resolution as soon as possible.

"I’m really sorry but I really can’t comment on the process or the time scale.

“I think obviously everybody would like a conclusion as soon as possible but I’m really not at liberty to comment about the process.”
