F1 News: Red Bull Warns Of 2024 Concern - "It Will Affect Our Performance!"

Despite spending less time in the wind tunnel as a result of the budget cap penalty, Red Bull Racing seems to be heading for a win. But how will this affect them in 2024?

Red Bull Racing has been on the road to victory yet again this season and the gain over other teams is so vast, that the penalty after exceeding the budget cap has made no difference to their performance. But now, Red Bull's technical director has revealed concern for the RB20, due to be released for next year's F1 season.

Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen's time in the wind tunnel has reduced considerably but it doesn't seem to bother them at all. Though it hasn't affected the car's performance, would things continue to be so easy, especially in 2024?

It's not just the penalty that seems to be reducing their time in the wind tunnel. Rules state that the higher a team reaches in the constructor's championship rankings, the less time they get to test in the wind tunnel.

Pierre Waché, Red Bull's technical director threw light on the matter at the press conference in Canada.

"I think it's never easier. I think the fact that you have a restriction of time in the number of runs of CFD or wind tunnel, I think we had this restriction, it just reduced. It's not easier because we are leading the championship.

"It's as difficult, we are going to the limit. I think it could affect for sure the current development of the car and maybe closing the grid this year but also will affect massively the next year car.

"Then I cannot tell you that it's easier because we want the best car next year. Then it will affect our performance, I don't know yet."

They're lucky to have got everything right with the car this season. But will this trend continue next year? Only time will tell.
