F1 News: Sergio Perez Crashes Out Of Hungarian GP FP1

Sergio Perez suffers a huge crash during Free Practice 1 of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Sergio Perez has crashed out of the first free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

A red flag emerged less than five minutes into the first free practice session ahead of the grand prix in Budapest after the Mexican driver lost control. The front and rear left tyres of his car clipped the grass on braking leading him to end up colliding with the race wall causing a huge amount of damage to the newly-upgraded RB19.

Luckily, Perez was able to walk away from the crash and did not suffer from any injuries as far as we are aware.

The pressure has been on Perez after he has failed to get into Q3 of qualifying during the last five race weekends as well as the return of Daniel Ricciardo to AlphaTauri. Unfortunately, this move will not be helping the Mexican driver's seat security and confidence in the car.

The Austrian team will now be working to get the car repaired by Free Practice Two this afternoon. With the team introducing significant upgrades this weekend, it will be even more important for the them to use the practice sessions to gather any necessary data ahead of qualifying tomorrow and the grand prix on Sunday.
