F1 fans share heartwarming messages after throwback video of Max Verstappen meeting Michael Schumacher is unearthed.

Fans have unearthed a heartwarming video of Max Verstappen meeting F1 icon Michael Schumacher when he was a young boy. 

The fan that shared the sweet video to Reddit, wrote:

"Young Max saying hi to Michael, with Sophie & Corinna in the background"

Another fan shared a quote from Max Verstappen about his relationship with Schumacher where he said that "memories will always" stay with him. The fan shared:

"Max's interviews on Michael:

"'We used to go on holidays when we were little. The two families. The memories will always stay with me.'

"'I was three or four years old at the time. I just knew that was Uncle Michael. Who was very nice. Who was an extremely big family man. But I never saw him as a record World Champion, I didn’t know that.'"

Someone else shared an emotional comment, referring to Schumacher's horrific skiing accident which reportedly left him with brain damage. The family has remained extremely private since and the seven-time champion hasn't been seen publicly. The fan wrote:

"Every time I see Michael being Michael it breaks my heart that we won't see him even casually conversing again."

Another fan wrote this it is strange to think that they didn't know that Verstappen would become a World Champion in that moment. They commented:

"It's such a strange feeling watching past events knowing how they played out. I wonder if someone knew then he'd be World Champion someday."
