F1 News: Valtteri Bottas And Zhou Guanyu's Alfa Romeo Cars Get Special Las Vegas-Themed Livery
Joining the list of teams who got special liveries designed for their cars for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix, the Alfa Romeo C43s belonging to Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu featured an 'all-black' design with playing card motifs to blend in with the mood of the Strip.
The one-off livery will be the team's third special livery this season that borrows inspiration from the gambling and casino culture of Las Vegas. The black base coat of the car acts as a backdrop to motifs of hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs that extend across the length of the car.

Previously at the Belgian Grand Prix, the team added neon green accents and front wing detailing on their C43. For the Italian Grand Prix, the rear of the car was transformed into the Italian flag, accompanied by the addition of green stripes to the front half of the car.
The black color of the car stands out very differently under the shadows as it offers a stealth vibe. But under the lights, the artwork on the C43 receives excellent recognition. Quite obviously, the special theme will extend to the drivers' overalls as well. Describing the theme on Sauber Group's official website, the team's statement read:
"Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake will sport a special look at the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix, as Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu unveiled a dedicated livery at the Alfa Romeo fan experience area at the Aria Hotel, on the famous Strip.
"Created by Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile, this livery is inspired by Las Vegas’s role as Entertainment Capital of the World, and it’s a nod to one of its most celebrated activities. The car features an all-black look, with a pattern of playing cards featuring Alfa Romeo’s Quadrifoglio in gold and heart suit cards emblazoned with the number six – for the six years of the relationship between Sauber Motorsport and Alfa Romeo.
"The special look will extend to the team’s garage and to the drivers’ attire, with Valtteri and Zhou’s race suits featuring gold Quadrifoglios and details for this most glittering of occasions."
The team aims to secure points in the upcoming race to prevent slipping behind Haas and ending up at the bottom of the constructors' championship standings.
