Fernando Alonso was overheard roasting the Alpine team on a radio transmission to his engineer during the second practice session of the Miami Grand Prix. Complaining that Esteban Ocon didn't get out of the way, the Spaniard's engineer described the situation as "a joke".

The Florida-based Grand Prix hasn't been setting the world on fire just yet, but as we push through the Saturday of the race weekend, we're hoping we see a little more excitement and hear more positivity from the drivers. So far, the grid isn't happy about the reduction of the first two DRS zones, but a moment in FP2 did manage to make us chuckle.

Approaching the set of corners before the track's one and only chicane, the now-Aston Martin driver was busy setting a flying lap when Esteban Ocon tried to defend the corner.

Alonso laughed:

"Alpines fight in the Free Practice," he chuckled.

"Just careful," his engineer responded over the radio. "You were on a flying lap and Ocon didn't get out the way."

"Yeah, copy," the 2-time champion continued. "But the Free Practice is their moment so... it's good."

Alonso left Alpine at the end of the 2022 season, disappointed in the team's lack of success. Fortunately, Aston Martin made huge progress in the break between seasons, with the driver returning to podium finishes. This new wave of confidence hasn't gone unnoticed, with fans of the sport all enthralled with this new level of performance.

Now, this hilarious moment from Alonso has confirmed that he's once again burnt bridges with a former team... but with the Miami GP so far lacking excitement, I'm not complaining!
