Williams has been given a fine of €5,000 following the Singapore Grand Prix qualifying session.

Logan Sargeant was investigated following the session for impeding Lance Stroll at Turn 8. However, despite the Stewards confirming that he did, in fact, impede the Canadian driver, he would avoid receiving a grid penalty and the team would be fined instead.

The official document from the Stewards reads:

"The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 2 (Logan Sargeant), team representative and reviewed position/marshalling system data, and team radio evidence.

"Car 2 clearly impeded Car 18 and Turn 8. However in mitigation of penalty for the driver, the Stewards considered the fact that the team made no radio communication to warn him of the approach of Car 18.

"It is essential, especially in Qualification, drivers be given sufficient and accurate warning of the approach of another vehicle. Accordingly and consistent with previous decisions, a fine is imposed on the Competitior [Williams Racing], who admitted that it had failed to provide an appropriate warning."

The American driver is due to start the race from eighteenth position tomorrow with his teammate Alex Albon starting from fourteenth position. Carlos Sainz is starting from pole position followed by George Russell and Charles Leclerc.
