Just recently, we saw how protestors from the 'Just Stop Oil' movement created trouble around the British Grand Prix weekend and threatened to stall the event. Now though, the latest circuit to be struck by such protests is the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort.

The movement aims to address climate change through non-violent actions and civil disobedience to force the government to introduce climate-friendly policies and reduce greenhouse emissions to zero by 2025. Despite receiving commendable support worldwide, the Extinction Rebellion Movement has faced a lot of criticism for disrupting daily life.

The mood has been quite dim on Max Verstappen's home turf which was already heated by taxi driver protests with regard to licensing. Now though, they seem frustrated due to the hurdle put forth by climate change protestors who have compromised their chances of benefitting from the peak GP season.

What remains to be seen is how the protests affect the Dutch Grand Prix and its reputation. Not only that, but the authorities would also have to ensure that security is at its highest around the GP weekend.
