The Azerbaijan Grand Prix race stewards have called a meeting with all of the FIA representatives responsible for the Parc Ferme area after photographers and staff were allowed to flood the pit lane whilst the race was still ongoing.

The race in Baku almost ended in disaster as Esteban Ocon headed in for a late pit stop only to find the pit lane covered in people. Footage from the shambolic moment shows the photographers and staff quickly running out of the way of the Alpine.

The moment has, understandably, come under fire from fans with many calling it "disgraceful", "dangerous", and a "complete and utter shambles".

Now, a letter from the stewards has been released calling for the emergency meeting.

As the meeting is currently ongoing, we will wait to see what the outcome may be. However, there is no doubt that a situation like this can never happen again. It not only put the photographers at extreme risk, but also Ocon and other staff members within the pit lane.

Fans have been joking about the moment, with one fan commenting:

"FIA summons FIA"

"The so-called pinnacle of motor sport on show for the whole world to view. Complete and utter shambles as usual!"

"Ridiculous. What's the penalty pathetic organisation"

More updates to come.
