George Russell is the third driver to be out of the Australian Grand Prix as his car sets on fire on Lap 18 of the race.

The Australian Grand Prix has been incredibly dramatic so far with Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon already retiring from the race.

The British driver had a fantastic start to the race by taking the lead from Max Verstappen early on. However, after pitting at the wrong moment before the red flag caused by Albon's crash, he was having to make his way back up from seventh.

It is suspected that the Mercedes driver suffered a fuel leak, causing the car to go up in flames.

Luckily, Russell was able to stop the car off the track before jumping out of harm.

UPDATE

Mercedes has now confirmed that it wasn't a fuel leak on Russell's car, but simply a power unit failure. This will be his first power unit change of the season.
