Haas has lodged a protest against the results of the Australian Grand Prix. The move comes in the aftermath of the FIA's decisions regarding the final restart of the race, which has caused much angst among drivers and teams.

The incident in question occurred during a tumultuous second red flag restart, where Nico Hulkenberg gained several positions and moved up to fourth place. This was thanks to several front runners crashing in the first few corners of the restart, affecting Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Nyck de Vries, and Logan Sargeant.

However, a third red flag was brought out, and the FIA decided to restart the race behind a safety car, with the cars only taking the chequered flag. It was the decision of the FIA to revert to the running order of the previous restart that caused some annoyance. This meant that Hulkenberg was pushed back to seventh place, while other drivers who had hit trouble at the original restart were allowed to retake their original positions in the order.

While Haas has not commented on the specifics of their protest, it is very likely that it is related to the decisions made for the restart that cost Hulkenberg.

This incident has caused much controversy within the F1 community, with many drivers and teams criticising the FIA's handling of the restart. The decision to revert to the previous running order has been especially contentious, as it appears to have favoured some drivers over others.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of Haas' protest will be.
