Formula 1’s venture into the glittering heart of Las Vegas promises to be nothing short of spectacular. As the engines prepare to roar on the Las Vegas Strip next month, an opening ceremony of mammoth proportions awaits fans and enthusiasts.

Scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, the curtain-raiser boasts an impressive lineup of music icons, spanning various genres. From the soulful tunes of Andra Day and the rocking rhythms of Journey to the electronic beats of Swedish House Mafia and Steve Aoki, the variety assures a musical feast ahead of the race.

But the evening won't just be about music. The full grid of 20 Formula 1 drivers will be attending the event, eagerly anticipating the night-time race. With an expected 30,000-strong crowd in tow, F1’s aim is clear - to leave an indelible mark on the city known for its larger-than-life entertainment.

Renee Wilm, the Las Vegas Grand Prix CEO, expressed her excitement about the fusion of Las Vegas’s character and F1's universal charm:

"For the first-ever Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix, it was important for us to create an opening ceremony that balances the spirit of Las Vegas with the global excitement that Formula 1 and these incredible drivers bring to each host city," she shared.

"We are proud to be able to work with the very best in the entertainment production space to offer one of the most diverse line-ups of beloved musical superstars, which will officially launch the race week festivities."

The event isn’t just about racing; it's about celebrating the blend of culture, thrill, and entertainment.

As a nod to Las Vegas's deep-rooted history in entertainment, the ceremony will unfold as F1 makes its arrival to Sin City. This will segue into individual artist performances, culminating in team and driver introductions similar to that of Miami. The Blue Man Group and the mesmerising Cirque du Soleil will join them.

Set against the iconic Las Vegas Strip, which will also double as the race's starting grid, the ceremony is poised to be a visual delight. With next-level lighting featuring 1,000 lights, 100 lasers, a mesmerising drone show, and fireworks, it promises to be a feast for the senses.

Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, echoed this sentiment.

"As the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, it is only fitting that we kick off the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix with an incredible line-up of world-renowned music and athletic talent," Hill remarked.

For him and many others, this event is not just a race; it's a landmark moment, marking a synergy between sport, music, and entertainment, presented on a grand stage for the world to witness.

As the city prepares for this historic event, the anticipation is palpable. The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix is not just about who takes the chequered flag, but about celebrating the journey, the spectacle, and the city that hosts it.
