Japanese GP: When And How To Watch FP1, FP2 And FP3
The Japanese Grand Prix weekend is upon us with the first Free Practice session just over 12 hours away.
Max Verstappen and Red Bull head into the weekend with confidence despite brake issues in Australia that forced the reigning champion to retire from the race. The Austrian team has a great track record at the iconic Suzuka circuit and are still considered the team to beat in the upcoming race. Red Bull's current closest contender is Ferrari. Carlos Sainz celebrated the victory in Melbourne with his teammate Charles Leclerc taking the second spot on the podium.
Mercedes will be looking to turn things around in Japan after a double-DNF in Australia set the team back in the constructors' standings. Another team that ran into issues in Melbourne were Williams after Alex Albon suffered from a crash during FP1. The British team were not able to repair the FW46 chassis which meant Albon continued the weekend in teammate Logan Sargeant's car, leaving the American driver out of the race. Williams has confirmed that both cars will be in Japan, however, they still do not have a spare chassis and Sargeant will be running in Albon's repaired car.
