Kevin Magnussen was the third driver to run into trouble during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix FP1 this morning after coming to a stop on the track just after Pierre Gasly's Alpine erupted into flames.

The Danish driver missed the apex of the corner and almost collided with the wall so had to pull out of it going into the run-off area. However, on talking to Haas team principal Guenther Steiner, it seemed like it was more of an issue than it looked. It sounds as though, while it is unconfirmed by the team, the car was struggling with fuel pressure issues.

The session was already put under red-flag conditions due to Pierre Gasly's Alpine bursting into flames, so marshals had to work quickly to remove both cars from the track in order to resume the only free practice session of the weekend.

The Haas team will be looking into the cause of the problems for Magnussen. The next few hours will be critical for the team to try and make appropriate changes so that Magnussen can take part in the qualifying session.

UPDATE

The Haas team have now confirmed that the issue on Magnussen's car is a loss of fuel pressure.
