While both Hamilton and Cullen posted heartfelt messages on social media about their split, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has given more details behind the separation, indicating it was in fact the seven-time champion who initiated the split. Wolff explained to the media:

"Angela has been a mascot of the team for a long time, but if this is what Lewis decides, we will always support him.

"As people and as an organisation, we all evolve, and if things don't work out, we need to be honest and bring change."

Hamilton broke the news to his followers on social media, paying tribute to Cullen for being his support system in the competitive F1 paddock. "For the last seven years, Angela Cullen has been by my side, pushing me to be the best version of myself," he wrote. "I am a stronger athlete and a better person because of her."

Cullen, who also worked as Hamilton's personal assistant and confidante, shared her own message of gratitude and excitement for her next adventure. "Thanks to the MB team, who have been my family for the past 7 years. And Lewis Hamilton, you GOAT!" she wrote. "I'm so proud of you and everything you have achieved. Thank you for supporting me, believing in me, and showing me the limitless potential we all have within us."

While it's unclear why Hamilton decided to part ways with Cullen, their split marks a significant change in the seven-time F1 world champion's support system. As Hamilton continues his pursuit of an eighth championship, all eyes will be on who he chooses to work with in the future.
