As the motorsport community commemorates the 10th anniversary of Michael Schumacher's skiing accident, Sebastian Vettel shared his recollections of his last interaction with Schumacher in an emotional interview.

In his conversation with the German media, Vettel recalled the poignant last conversation he had with Schumacher. 

"The first thoughts were immediately of the last conversation we had together," Vettel said. "

It couldn't be more positive. I told him that I was going to be a father and what was coming for us.

"I really appreciated it, especially towards the end, when our relationship became stronger before the accident, because racing was no longer the biggest issue for both of us, but life in general around racing. My friend in that I just lack sense."

Reflecting on Schumacher's influence, Vettel shared his sense of loss. 

"I think he would have been extremely important in the last few years," he said.

"I would have had so many questions and he would certainly have provided so many answers and inspiration. That's what's missing."

Vettel also touches on his close relationship with Schumacher's family, especially with Mick Schumacher who's his godson. Vettel has played a mentor-like role for Mick in F1, and he understands the profound impact the accident has had on the family.
