The 2023 F1 season is already off to a rocky start for AlphaTauri, as Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko fires a warning shot at the team's underperforming drivers, Nyck de Vries and Yuki Tsunoda.

As the team currently sits in ninth place in the constructors' championship, Marko acknowledges that their position falls below the high expectations set by Red Bull. However, he emphasises that the team's improvement is of utmost priority, and anything short of a significant progress would be unacceptable.

Setting ambitious targets for the upcoming season, Marko has challenged the team to aim for the coveted fifth place in the constructors' championship. While a position between sixth and seventh place would still be acceptable, anything below that would not meet the team's lofty goals. With the added pressure of keeping costs down, Team Manager Franz Tost has his work cut out for him.

Unfortunately, the first race of the season did not bode well for AlphaTauri. Both de Vries and Tsunoda failed to score points, with finishes of 14th and 11th place, respectively. And now the team are in ninth place in the constructors' standings after another weekend of no points.

AlphaTauri will need to pull out all the stops to meet their ambitious targets and satisfy the high expectations set by Red Bull.

As the stakes continue to rise in the world of F1, it will be interesting to see if AlphaTauri can turn the tide and rise up the ranks. For now, all eyes are on de Vries and Tsunoda to see if they can live up to their potential and deliver the results that the team so desperately needs.
