The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has brought the second race of the 2023 season to a close and it ended on a particularly dramatic note.

Red Bull had a 1-2 finish with Sergio Perez taking the win followed by Max Verstappen in second place. Fernando Alonso crossed the line in third place and went on to celebrate on the podium before being handed a last-minute ten-second penalty which put him down to fourth and George Russell up to third.

The FIA later confirmed that after Aston Martin appealed the ten-second penalty, they had removed it and Alonso was back in third place.
