Zhou Guanyu is the second driver to retire from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix during the latter stages of the race, after Nyck de Vries retired earlier on.

The Chinese driver managed to avoid causing a safety car by getting back to the pits before he was rolled back into the garage.

The Alfa Romeo team seem to be having troubles throughout the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with Guanyu's teammate Valtteri Bottas pitting three times by the 38th lap of the race.

Guanyu made contact with the race wall causing damage to the car, although the team has note revealed any details on the issues with the car.

Alfa Romeo are now relying on Bottas to bring home points for the team. However, with the Finnish driver currently running in eighteenth position with a huge twenty-five second gap to Pierre Gasly in front of him, that is clearly not going to happen.

With just ten laps to go Sergio Perez is leading the race followed by his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen behind him in second. Charles Leclerc, who started in pole position is currently in third place with Fernando Alonso behind him.
