The Belgian Grand Prix seems all set for a thrilling return to the annual racing calendar in 2024, despite recent rumours that the iconic race will be absent from the line-up next year.

The latest reports reveal that the management of the circuit has been in talks with Formula One in London. An official spokesperson for Spa provided some insight into these negotiations, stating to GPBlog.com:

"The circuit management has been at Formula One in London today and there is 95 per cent of a deal. The deal is practically complete. Things look good for 2025 as well."

On 12th June, two representatives from Spa Grand Prix, Melchior Wathelet and Vanessa Maes, journeyed to London for a crucial meeting with Formula One executives.

According to the Belgian Grand Prix's representatives, the meeting was constructive and left them optimistic about the future. They shared:

"It was a positive meeting. Nothing is official yet, but very soon there will be more news about the Spa-Francorchamps Grand Prix in 2024.

"For the following years, it is still too early to confirm more, but there is a good feeling and Formula 1 will keep Spa in mind even after 2024."

The rumours stated that Formula One were considering alternating the Belgian and Hungarian Grand Prix every year. However, following this recent update, it seems a statement may be released shortly to confirm a contract extension.
