Lance Stroll is reportedly contemplating a shift from Formula 1 to tennis, creating potential changes for Aston Martin's line-up. This speculation comes amidst Alonso's rising success and the significant influence of Stroll's father, Lawrence, in the F1 sphere.

In the world of motorsport, particularly within the Formula 1 arena, adaptability and resilience are key. However, for Canadian racer Lance Stroll, the 2023 season has unveiled unique challenges, prompting questions regarding his F1 future. An unexpected revelation surfaces: Stroll might swap the adrenaline of racing for a tennis court according to journalist Ben Anderson.

With Alonso's performance skyrocketing this year behind the wheel of the AMR23, comparisons between him and Stroll have been unavoidable. A staggering 102-point difference between the two teammates, the second-largest point gap on the grid, has painted a rather grim picture of Stroll’s current performance. Alonso has tasted the champagne six times this season already on the podium, while Stroll has yet to step on that coveted rostrum.

Lance Stroll Moving From F1 To Tennis

Ben Anderson, an authoritative voice in the F1 journalism circle, ignited rumours about Stroll's career trajectory. Featuring on The Race F1 podcast, Anderson shed light on the possibility of Stroll:

“[Stroll] is too far behind Alonso but, really, he’s only likely to leave that team voluntarily – he’s on a rolling contract in his dad’s organisation," he said.

“There’s been some rumours floating around that he’s considering a switch to tennis, so if he makes a career switch like that that opens up the seat.”

It isn't the first occasion when the young racer's dedication to the sport has been under the microscope. But it's worth noting that Lance's place in Aston Martin, or in F1 in general, has been securely anchored primarily due to his father Lawrence being a major stakeholder in Aston Martin.

Lawrence’s takeover and subsequent rebranding of the Force India team to Racing Point was largely orchestrated to secure Lance a position. Additionally, seismic team decisions like taking on significant figures like Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso highlights his wish to succeed.

So, what does the future hold? Should Stroll trade his helmet for a tennis racket, it undeniably presents an intriguing vacancy at Aston Martin. Who could take up the mantle?
