The exit of Nyck de Vries from AlphaTauri has spurred on the silly season rumours. Now, a move for Lando Norris has been mentioned.

Esteemed journalist Joe Saward delves into the latest whispers surrounding the F1 driver market in a recent blog post. Saward acknowledges the impressive performances of Alexander Albon and Lando Norris, whose skills have caught the attention of both Red Bull and Ferrari.

However, he suggests Red Bull may have to recalibrate their expectations around Norris. In his words, "there are some who believe that Lando may already have some kind of pre-contract with Ferrari." Saward's post reads:

"Norris and Albon were the subjects of wildly diverse rumours about the future over the weekend, with both being mentioned in connection with Ferrari and with Red Bull.

"Whether such moves make sense for either man is open to question but there are some who believe that Lando may already have some kind of pre-contract with Ferrari.

"I cannot see that as being a logical career path, given where Ferrari currently is, but then going to Red Bull and trying to beat Max Verstappen is also a career path from hell.

Lando Norris - McLaren

Norris is currently in contract with McLaren until 2025 and the teams CEO Zak Brown has confirmed publicly that there is no exit clause in that contract. The Belgian-British driver started his F1 career with the Papaya team in 2019 and is now on his fifth season with them.

Teams will surely be keeping a close eye on Norris, especially after his impressive P2 finish at the British Grand Prix.
