Lewis Hamilton, the 7-time world champion, is heading into his 11th season with the Mercedes team this year of F1. But currently, all eyes are on the Brit as we wait for confirmation of his contract with Mercedes that is right now, coming to an end and the end of this year. Obviously, there's no shortage of rumours about the paddock, and a new report from Daily Mail has now shocked fans and pundits.

Now, I hope I don't need to say, but the Daily Mail must always be taken with a pinch of salt. They say that Hamilton is wanting to stay with the Brackley squad until he's 43 - currently 38.

Ahead of the Canada Grand Prix weekend, the driver confirmed that he is still in conversation with the team, and nothing is yet to be officially confirmed. But according to the British news outlet, he's looking for a $50 million per year salary, making this 5-year contract worth $250 million in total.

We're yet to hear anything conclusive from the team or its lead driver, but we'll have our eyes peeled and ears open for any news surrounding the subject.
