The American Performance Horseman, which made its successful industry-defining debut in 2023, will be hosted in Arlington, Texas for the next three years. The event will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024 and is one of the American Western Weekend's highlight events, along with The American Rodeo on March 9.

Produced by Teton Ridge, the event's competitive exhibition format pays homage to the past, present, and future of Western performance horse sports. The event features five teams of three athletes, each paired with some of the industry's most respected Quarter Horses. Each team comprises a reiner, a reined cow horse professional, and a cutting professional.

With $1,000,000 in prize money up for grabs, the competition in 2024 is bound to be fierce. This event is the first to highlight the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA), National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), and National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) on the same night at the same venue.

Teton Ridge has revealed the teams for the upcoming event:

Royal Blue: Adan Banuelos (Cutting), Casey Deary (Reining), Clayton Edsall (Reined Cow Horse)

Regal Red: Austin Shepard (Cutting), Cade McCutcheon (Reining), Sarah Dawson (Reined Cow Horse)

There will be more information provided soon about the horses that will be ridden during the event.

Last year, Adan Banuelos and All Spice were the champions of cutting, Casey Deary and Down Right Amazing won in reining, Sarah Dawson and Shine Smarter won the reined cow horse category, and Team Blue, comprising of Adan Banuelos, Fernando Salgado and Sarah Dawson, emerged as the winners of the team event.
