The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) has named Scooters Daisy Dukes as its inaugural NRCHA Million Dollar Dam, marking a significant milestone in the organization's history.

Scooters Daisy Dukes, a 2009 sorrel Quarter Horse mare sired by Dual Smart Rey and out of Scooters Playmate by Freckles Playboy, boasts offspring with a combined official NRCHA Lifetime Earnings exceeding $1,036,175. Notably, her progeny include Scooter Kat, a 2015 Quarter Horse stallion by Kit Kat Sugar, with lifetime earnings surpassing $600,000, and Hazardouz Material, a 2016 Quarter Horse stallion by Metallic Cat, earning over $637,711.

Owner Aaron Cook, a former Major League Baseball pitcher, expressed his gratitude, describing Scooters Daisy Dukes as a "unicorn" and attributing his introduction to the equine world to his wife, Jennifer. Cook's journey from baseball retirement to competitive cutting was sparked by his wife's astute purchase of Scooters Daisy Dukes during a Western Bloodstock Sale.

"I was at home asleep when my wife bought Scooters Daisy Dukes," Cook recounted. "She knew I was looking for an amateur cutting horse and bought the mare in one of the Western Bloodstock Sales. She called me and told me to hook up the trailer to come and get my horse. Then she called me back and told me to bring the bigger trailer because the mare came with three recipient mares carrying her babies."

Fortune smiled upon Cook as one of the recipient mares produced Hazardouz Material, subsequently sold to Linda Mars and shown by Erin Taormino. Another recipient mare yielded Scooter Kat, owned by Eric Freitas and shown by Justin Wright, ultimately becoming NRCHA's highest-earning horse.

Today, Scooters Daisy Dukes enjoys retirement at the Cooks' Oklahoma ranch, accompanied by fellow retirees on their spacious acreage.

NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel lauded Scooters Daisy Dukes' historic achievement, emphasizing her impact on the sport and expressing pride in recognizing her contributions.

"To see the first NRCHA Million-Dollar Dam is monumental for NRCHA," Konkel remarked. Scooters Daisy Dukes has produced some of the greatest cow horses of all time, and we're fortunate to be able to see her offspring in action. We're so proud to recognize this incredible mare for her achievements. Congratulations to Aaron and Scooters Daisy Dukes!"
