The Somervell County Expo Center in Glen Rose, Texas, buzzed with excitement as J & J Productions hosted an intense barrel racing event called The Big League. Held on Feb. 29, the event had a total payout of nearly $170,000 and was exclusive to slot holders. There were no more than 200 entries in the Open and only 40 entries in the Youth category.

The Big League attracted participants from NFR and American qualifiers to standout youth competitiors. All of the horse and rider teams put on incredible displays of speed and agility.

In the Open, NFR qualifier Summer Kosel and her horse, FireWaterFrenchFame, also known as "Apollo," took the top spot in clocking an impressive 14.667-second run and earning the first-place check of $18,496.

Dusky Lynn Hall, a young gun with an already impressive resume, won second place in the Open and won the Youth. Hall rode Troublenvrlooksogood, also known as "Dexter," and clocked in at 14.688 seconds, earning a total of $15,595.
