Top Talent Shines Bright at Wickenburg's Legends of the West Rodeo

The Legends of the West PRCA Rodeo in Wickenburg, Ariz., wows crowds with standout performances and big payouts. From co-all-around cowboys to lightning-fast victories, the weekend delivers electrifying action.

The third annual Legends of the West PRCA Rodeo in Wickenburg, Ariz., showcased thrilling performances over the weekend of April 6-7, with a display of top-notch talent across various events. Among the standout performers, Seth Hall and Sherrick Sanborn emerged as co-all-around cowboys, showcasing their prowess in tie-down roping and team roping.

In the bareback riding event, Cauy Betony impressed the crowd with a 71-point ride aboard Honeycutt Rodeo's Colorado Gypsy, pocketing $526 in prize money as no other riders managed to qualify.

Steer wrestling saw Jake Nelson dominate with a swift 4.0-second takedown, earning him $1,034. Trevin Fox followed closely with a 4.1-second run, securing $776, while Caden Camp and Matt Jodie tied for third with 4.5 seconds each, earning $388 apiece.

Team roping proved to be fiercely competitive, with Brayden Schmidt and Pace Blanchard emerging victorious with a blazing 4.4-second run, earning $1,665 each. Jhett Hale and Jake Rodriguez, along with Choc Westcott and Clinton Groff, tied for second with 4.5 seconds each, claiming $1,339 each.

In the saddle bronc riding, Cole Hoffman delivered an impressive 81-point ride on Honeycutt Rodeo's Wolverine, securing $767, while Josh Davison trailed behind with 75 points, earning $575. Tyler Beebe, Noel Johnson, and Chance West tied for third with 73 points each, taking home $192 apiece.

Cade Wallis demonstrated his roping expertise in the tie-down roping, clocking in at 8.2 seconds and earning $940. Cody Detweiler followed closely with an 8.4-second run, pocketing $705, while Joseph Parsons secured third place with 8.9 seconds, earning $470. Weston Crane, Seth Hall, and Sherrick Sanborn tied for fourth with 9.3 seconds each, earning $78 apiece.

The barrel racing saw Doskie Edwards emerge victorious with a swift 17.31-second run, earning $1,247. Sonya Dodginghorse followed closely with a time of 17.40 seconds, securing $1,068, while Christina Gould took third with 17.49 seconds, earning $890.

In the breakaway roping, Taniah Nez claimed victory with a rapid 2.8-second run, earning $1,647, followed closely by Makayla Boisjoli with 2.9 seconds, earning $1,363.

The bull riding event witnessed Clay Wagner's impressive 83-point ride aboard Honeycutt Rodeo's Lizard Lips, earning him $822 as the sole qualified rider.
