The Cinch Playoffs Governor's Cup is finishing the regular season with a bang. Offering rodeo athletes with an amazing $1 million purse, and a chance for those outside the top-15 to move up and qualify for the National Finals Rodeo.

The breakaway ropers showed up to the Governor's Cup with one statement; fast.

In round one the World Champion Kelsie Domer took home the win and $10,000 with a 1.9-second run. Getting a perfect start and a good set up for the average, the cowgirls were really just warming up.

In round two Maddy Deerman was first to back in the box, blowing Domers round one win away with a 1.8-second go on her calf. The New Mexico cowgirl sits 27th in the world with $39,633 won this year and $7,500 tonight in round 2 to come in second place.

Joey Williams blew everyone away with her 1.7-second run to take the round 2 win, and $10,000. Williams sits sixth in the Women's Professional Rodeo Association breakaway roping with $96,799 in season earnings.

Kelsie Domer proved her consistency with her 2.0-second run in round two, putting her third in the round. Domer is leading the average taking home $5,000 in round two.

Kendal Pierson turned in a 2.2-second run, placing fourth in the round and taking home $2,500. The Canadian cowgirl will take all she can get sitting 14th in the WPRA standings, and at risk to be bumped out of qualifying for the National Finals Breakaway Roping.

There were more misses than catches in round two, though some girls going for the win unfortunately caught the barrier. Bradi Good was a 12.2, Shelby Boisjoli turned in a 12.6, and Taylor Munsel drew a runner and was still 12.8.

The Governor's Cup will advance the top eight cowgirls to Saturdays clean-slate round, taking the top four to the final round at another chance for an even larger check.

Final Round Payout

  1. $25,000
  2. $19,000
  3. $12,000
  4. $6,000
