Broussard Tops 2024 Bareback Riding Standings

2024 PRCA world standings have posted and familiar faces are back at the top.

The 2024 pro rodeo season kicked off Oct. 1. PRCA finally posted the first of the world standings for the start of the 2024 season. In the bareback riding, a couple of familiar faces are back in the top-15.

Taylor Broussard is starting the 2024 pro rodeo season at No. 1 in the world with $19,648 in earnings already. Broussard took home the bareback riding title at the Southeastern Circuit Finals. Broussard fell short of the National Finals Rodeo this year, sitting at No. 18 for the 2023 season. 

Sitting No. 2 in the world currently is Badlands Circuit Finals champion, Ben Kramer. Kramer had a tough season last year, finishing 34th in the world standings. 

Evan Betony got his season kicked off in the right way becoming the Turquoise Circuit Finals and claiming the No. 8 spot for the time being. Betony did not place in the world standing last season, he is looking to turn that around this year. 

Keenan Hayes is currently positioned in the ninth place spot in the world standings. Hayes was the No. 1 bareback rider last year by a large margin. Not to mention he set a new season earnings record with $265,895, all while being a rookie. Hayes got a quick start to the 2024 season with winning the Mountain States Circuit Finals. 

Resting at the No. 11 position, Tanner Aus punched his ticket to the NFR Open this season by winning the bareback event at the Great Lakes Circuit Finals. Aus was No. 12 in the standings last year and will be attending his eighth National Finals Rodeo this December. 

Kade Sonnier made his way back to top-15 early in the 2024 season already. Sonnier was No. 3 in the world last season and had huge wins. He won at Calgary Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days. Sonnier had a breakout year and secure an invitation to his first NFR this year.
