CINCH Timed Event Championship Crowns New Champion Following Incredible Showdown

The CINCH Timed Event Championship has its new champion after a hard fought five go-round weekend.

GUTHRIE, Okla. — The 40th CINCH Timed Event Championship hosted by the Lazy E ranch has its new champion.

"New" is a relative word as Paul David Tierney, this year's champion and "Ironman", already has multiple to his name.

Tierney walked away with the $100,000 grand prize after scoring a 322.8 seconds aggregate (on 25 head). The South Dakota cowboy came into the final go-round with the lead and was widely regarded as the favorite to take home the win.

Barring a collapse.

Tierney ended up closing the deal by finishing third in the aggregate for the final round, all while adding another $1000 to his weekend winnings.

In second place was Nelson Wyatt with a 338.3-second aggregate. The Alabama cowboy took home $35,000 for his performance. It was an excellent year to take second as the prize money for the runner-up increased by $10,000 this year over previous years.

Wyatt also won the final round aggregate and took home $3,000 in additional earnings after a 51.9 second round.

Rounding out the evening was Marcus Theriot who took second in the fifth round aggregate with 55.2 seconds, earning him a $2,000 check.
