It's getting down to the wire for all the rodeo competitors trying to secure their spot in the top-15 in the world.

The 34th annual Cowboy Capitol of the World pro-rodeo is going on this weekend in Stephenville, TX. This rodeo is one of the last chances the riders have to win money to move up in the worlds standings.

This rodeo pays out over $100,000 over the course of three days along with unique awards to the champions of each event, including custom trophy rifles. They have won best footing arena a total of eight times, as well as been nominated for top medium sized rodeo in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

The city of Stephenville, TX is very involved with the rodeo the week leading up. To the people who live there, it's more than just a three day rodeo. They have a massive team roping event that everyone can enter, mutton busting, rodeo queen contest, dummy roping and a charity fundraiser dinner with an invitational fashion show.

If you take a drive around the city you will see banners hung at businesses showing their support of the events. The whole town truly gets involved for the rodeo, especially when so many past and present National Finals Rodeo qualifiers reside there.

Stephenville is always looking to up their game and this year they built an entire new arena and fairgrounds just for the pro rodeo. The locals not only donated money but time- building the structures, working on the arena ground and so many other important things that make this rodeo great. We are excited to see all the action take place at this new venue.
