The prestigious Linderman Award is an award many cowboys spend their entire career trying to win. The Linderman is given out with great pride to a cowboy that has won over $1,000 in three events during a season. One event must be rough stock and one timed event.

In youth rodeo events, most kids are all-around competitors. Barrels, poles, goat tying, chute dogging, roping, etc. As contestants get older they typically designate an event or two, to primarily focus on before heading to college.

It is rare to see a PRCA member still be an all-around competitor. There are some contestants that compete in two events, however its not everyday a contestant competes in four events like Randlett, Utah cowboy, Josh Frost.

Frost currently sits third in the PRCA bull riding world standings as he prepares for his fourth trip to the NFR.

Frost also competes in the calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling.

In the 2023 season Frost won $232,034 in bull riding, $2,395 in tie-down roping, $1,976 in the steer wrestling and $482 in team roping.

Frost's focus has always been to win a bull-riding world title, however he says calf roping is his second most competitive event. He grew up roping with his family in Utah, and is now married to professional breakaway roper, Erica Frost.

Josh Frost has won four-consecutive Linderman Awards, 2019, 2021, and 2022 (no Linderman was awarded in 2020).

"It can be hard to balance two timed events when you're trying to win a gold buckle in the bull riding" Frost tells PRCA. "It means a lot to win this award, I put a lot of work into it every year to make it happen."

Frost continues to set the example for the next generation of aspiring rodeo athletes.
