Rising Stars Dominate Houston Super Series IV

Where most of the names you see in the results of Houston are World Champions and NFR qualifiers, Super Series IV was dominated by new names and faces in the professional rodeo world.

Four brackets down, there is just one to go before the final lineup for the semifinals at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is determined.  

Bracket four was filled with cowboys and cowgirls who were looking to make their first trip to Las Vegas for the Wrangler National Finals.  Many of them made their first move by making the semifinals.

Cooper Cooke, Donny Proffit, Caleb Bennett, and Clay Jorgenson advanced in the bareback riding. Only Bennett has been to the WNFR previously, while the other three are up-and-comers making a splash. If they advance again, they have the chance to win $50,000 in the finals.

The steer wrestling holds much the same story, with Cash Robb, Jacob Talley, Blake Knowles, and Tucker Allen moving on.  While Talley and Knowles have a long history in the sport, Allen and Robb are newcomers making their way up the ranks.

The barrel race was good to Shelley Morgan where she picked up $7,000 toward her World Standings race.  Sissy Winn, who made her first trip to the WNFR in 2023, was second with $6,000.  Bringing up third and fourth were Haley Lide and Rachelle Riggers, who are making their first bid toward the WNFR.
