Six time World Champion announces retirement from professional rodeo on No Spin Rodeo Podcast.

Kaycee Feild, a veteran of bareback riding, has almost $3.5 million in career earnings. Feild has made 13 NFR appearances since 2008, and won The American three times.

The legendary bareback rider calls Genola, Utah, home, where he and wife Stephanie Feild are raising their three children. Feild says they are the main push behind his retirement.

Feild ended up 16th in the world standings this year, just $1,678 behind No. 15. Only attending less than 25 rodeos this year, Feild tells No Spin Rodeo his money from The American and Riggin Rally did not count towards PRCA earnings, taking him out of the conversation for the 2023 National Finals Rodeo.

"I learned a lot about who I am and what I was about over the season,  staying strong to how I wanted to start the season, and how I saw my season going." Feild told No Spin Rodeo

"Right now I've never been so content in my life and happy where I'm at. I am disappointed December is going to be a lot different for me, but at the same time being home with my family, and having faith God has a plan for me that's better than mine is something I have come to realize."

Feild says he realized in late August the cards were not lining up to qualify for his 14th NFR. He knew it was time to start making ground up, however he was not willing to make the sacrifice it would take to solidify another qualification.

Feild's plan all along was to retire after the NFR in December, just coming a bit earlier than expected.

"My plan has never changed, at all," said Feild. "The things that I have going on at home with family and business have started to outweigh rodeo."

A decision that was not made lightly for Kaycee Feild, he sends a final farewell to the sport he loves most following an astounding career.

Feild changed the standard for generations to come of bareback riders. He rode the rankest bucking horses pro rodeo has ever seen and crushing records along the way.

A true legend with undeniable stats, he has always stayed true to himself and the sport. There is no doubt Kaycee Feild will trailblaze the same path of greatness in his next endeavors.
