The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Semifinal 1 brought thrilling action and impressive performances across various events, culminating in a historic moment as Shai Schaefer shattered the breakaway roping arena record with a remarkable 1.5-second run.

In the bareback riding event, Cooper Cooke took the lead with an 87.5-point ride on Pickett Pro Rodeo's Shady Night, earning $5,000 and securing a spot in the finals alongside Keenan Hayes, Kade Sonnier, Luke Thrash and Cole Reiner.

Steer wrestling saw Denell Henderson dominate with a swift 4.1-second takedown, claiming $5,000 and a finals berth along with Tyler Pearson, Cash Robb, Stephen Culling and Walt Arnold.

Team roping action was intense, with Andrew Ward and Tanner Braden clocking in at 3.7 seconds to seize victory and secure their spot in the finals alongside Coy Rahlmann and Billie Jean Saebens, Aaron Tsinigine and Ryan Motes, Cody Snow and Hunter Koch and Dawson Graham and Dillon Graham.

Lefty Holman wowed the crowd in the saddle bronc riding with an 89-point ride, earning $5,000 and securing his place in the finals alongside Isaac Diaz, Logan Cook, Sage Newman, and Dawson Hay.

Shad Mayfield displayed his skills in the tie-down roping, clocking in at 7.7 seconds to claim victory and secure a finals spot alongside Kincade Henry, Tom Crouse, Luke Potter, and Blane Cox.

Barrel racing saw Jessica Routier shine with a 14.15-second run, earning $5,000 and a spot in the finals alongside Kassie Mowry, Wenda Johnson, Shelley Morgan, and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi.

In the bull riding, Luke Mast emerged victorious with an 83-point ride, earning $7,500 and a finals berth alongside Cooper James, Jordan Hansen, Jake Gardner, and Fulton Rutland.

However, the standout moment of the night came from Shai Schaefer in the breakaway roping, whose record-breaking run of 1.5 seconds earned her $5,000 and a spot in the finals alongside Joey Williams, Maddy Deerman, Braylee Shepherd and Erin Johnson.
