The Capitalist Roping is held every October at the infamous Rose Palace in San Antonio, Texas. An impressive $25,000 is added to the pot drawing team ropers from far and wide to compete for the large purse. 

During one of the slower times in the year for professional team ropers, The Capitalist offers a chance to compete for a $40,000 pay out, while keeping their competitive edge before the National Finals Rodeo in less than six weeks. 

The Capitalist does not only host two roping's for open level ropers, there are also ropings for amaters as well. 

Andrew Ward and Junior Nogueira won the open average with 36.59 seconds on six head, splitting $40,000. Nogueira also won second in the average with partner Kaleb Driggers, adding another $15,000 to his earnings for the day.

Driggers and Nogueira won the open seven header the next day with 47.16 seconds for another $16,000 each. Totaling $51,000 in the average for Nogueira over the weekend, and $42,000 for Driggers.

She graduated from Tarleton State University with a bachelor's degree in Agribusiness in 2022 and will graduate in December 2023 with a Master's in Business Administration. Now based in Stephenville, Tx, Alex continues to make her mark as she establishes a career in the oil and gas industry. In addition, Alex utilizes her expertise and connections to support the sport she loves, as she joins forces with Sports Illustrated as a writer for their acclaimed feature, Rodeo Daily. Beyond Alex’s accomplishments in and out of the arena, to her core, she is tenacious, focused, and driven. Her deep roots in the Western industry have not only shaped her professional journey, but also instilled an unwavering commitment to tradition, excellence, and innovation.
