Earlier this week 20-year-old Keenan Hayes climbed up on to the back of his bronc at the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo Finals in Puyallup, Wa. A long eight seconds later he scored a 90.5 and lands in the third position winning $4,875. This makes his total earnings for the season so far $237,546.

This Rookie Cowboy already shattered the record for most money earned on a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association/ RAM Rodeo permit, with $81,128. So it comes as no surprise that in his first year as a PRCA card holder he would take on the challenge head on and break yet another earnings record.

The previous PRCA regular season earnings record was held by Clint Cannon with $233,504 back in 2009. Hayes is now $4,000 over that record and is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon with the regular season not over yet and the Cinch Playoff Finals in South Dakota coming up at the end of this month. If he went all the way wins the final round at the Cinch Playoff Finals that would be another $25,000 alone!

Hayes has been on fire all year long, winning rodeos left and right. He has won a total of 15 rodeos so far this 2023 season.  San Angelo, Silver Spurs, Mountain State Circuit Finals, Resistol Rookie Round up and Austin are just a few of his big wins.

If he keeps on climbing this bronc riding mountain like he has been, he will be making his first trip to Las Vegas this December for the National Finals Rodeo.

He is due to ride in the performance Friday Sep 15 at Pendleton Roundup pro rodeo.
