The Ariat World Series of Team Roping (WSTR) Finale is a highly anticipated amateur handicapped team roping competition held every year at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The eight-day event offers a staggering $16 million in payouts across nine divisions, attracting over 3,000 participants and horses from all over the world. The event coincides with the National Finals Rodeo, allowing team ropers to experience both events simultaneously.

Qualifications:

The WSTR allows independent contractors to hold qualification ropings throughout the year, providing members with an opportunity to participate in the Finale event. With nine different divisions, each having specific caps and a minimum age requirement of 21 years (except the Open and #14.5). All divisions follow the same format, and winning teams earning at least $4000 are eligible to enter the specific Finale division. However, there are other ways to qualify for the finale, including for Legacy Ropers, Silver Legacy Ropers, and through direct entry.

Format:

The WSTR Finale consists of a four header aggregate featuring three full go-rounds and a short round. The top eight teams from each rotation advance to the short round. Additionally, the fastest team overall per every 100 teams in the division who don't qualify for the short round also move on. Every team that makes the short round is guaranteed a payout, with the exact amount determined by their performance in the round.
