NFL Star Trades A Football Field For A Corn Field

Could a week harvesting acres help 49ers quarterback gain yards on the football field?

The 49ers had a bye last week but that did not stop their quarterback Brock Purdy from putting in hard work.

Purdy wasn't in Levi Stadium, but still on the field, his future in-law's corn field to be exact. Purdy's fiance Jenna Brandt, whom he met while attending Iowa State, is a native to the farming state of Iowa.

Brandt shared a video on her social media of Purdy operating the John Deere combine on her family's farm captioning it "Wrapping up harvest '23" complete with a heart emoji.

This time of year is incredibly stressful for farmers as they are busy their harvesting before winter. They are the backbone of this nation by feeding the 330 million people that inhabit this great nation, with agriculture only accounting for 10.4% of employment.

Purdy might be an Arizona native but the state of Iowa claims him as one of their own after having a phenomenal college football career, he holds over 30 school records and was picked three times to the All Big 12 team while at Iowa State University.

Though that glory seemed to fade when he was picked last at the 2022 NFL draft by the 49ers until he lead them to 5-0, taking them to the NFC championship game.

In the 2023 season Purdy and the 49ers were on fire until they went into the bye week after three losses in a row. They are currently 5-3 and sitting first in the NFC West.

Maybe a week at the corn field got Purdy geared up and ready for game day on the football field this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
