One of the three prestigious Ruby Buckle barrel races is being held Oct 25 through 28 at the Agricenter Showplace Arena in Memphis, Tennessee.

The event started Wednesday in round one of the Futurity with incredibly skilled competitors turning in fast times to come back in round two with hopes to be in the average. 

Winning round two as well as the average was rider Jamey Hunt on Ever Eddie, sired by Eddie Stinson. The 2018 red gelding was bred by Victory Farms and is owned by two-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier, Tiany Schuster. Hunt and Ever Eddie ran two smoking times for a combined time of 30.123 seconds banking $21,000 and the title of futurity champion.

The title of reserve futurity champion went to RP Tres Hombres , sired by Tres Fortunes and ridden by million dollar futurity trainer Pete Oen. The four year old bay gelding, bred and owned by Roger Primm, had a time of 30.139 seconds after two rounds and winning $14,700.
