The southwest region is one of the toughest in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Home to some of the biggest college rodeo teams in the nation, The state of Texas is split into two regions, the southern region and the southwest region.

The southern region is made up of schools in east Texas as well as western Louisiana. The southwest region is west Texas and eastern New Mexico colleges. Ranging all the way from Borger to Alpine, Texas, and to Hobbs, New Mexico.

Tarleton State University leads the both the women's and men's team standings, almost 1,000 points ahead of Western Texas College men's team and 750 points ahead of Clarendon Colleges women's team.

South Plains Colleges Brey Yore leads the men's all-around and Quincy Sullivan leads the women's all-around representing Clarendon College.

Both all-around winners from each region qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo hosted in Casper, Wyoming, in the event they have the most points in.
