The rodeo action has been hot all week in Fort Worth, Texas, from barrel racing to steer wrestling to roping and everything in between.

The entire Priefert Patriot is in town at the famed Will Rogers Coliseum. One of the top events is the $20,000 added Futurity barrel race. This race is only for young horses that are four or five years old and have not competed before November 15, 2023. This truly allows trainers to showcase the talent of these equine athletes.

All eyes were on the golden stallion who had taken the barrel industry and social media by storm: Adios Pantalones. This stud and his incredible owner, trainer, and jockey, Tricia Aldridge, have dominated everywhere they have competed. The Patriot futurity was no different.

In the first round, Aldridge and Adios almost had their very first down barrel, but it miraculously stayed up, and they crossed the timer to set the pace and win. The following day, they came back and won the second round, also winning them the average.

"Adios has placed in every single average," said Aldridge. "He's so consistent."

The unicorn of a stallion isn't the only one who is consistent. Aldridge won the title of Patriot Futurity Champion back in 2021. This was on her wicked fast mare Three Times The Fury, who is by FuryOfTheWind out of a daughter of Tres Seis. Aldridge has a knack for the Tres Seis-bred horses, so there's no questioning that.

"What's really neat is I just bred Adios to her last week," said Aldridge.

Future Patriot champion in the making?

Adding $9,780 to their LTE brings the total to $198,426.43. This dynamic duo has only been competing since November, and this feat is unheard of. That leaves only a little over $100,000 until they hit their goal of $300,000. How many more runs till they reach it?
