Alex Morgan on the Importance of Sleep & Sneakers
In July, the soccer world will turn its attention to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. As the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) prepares for another historic run, striker Alex Morgan is busier than ever.
In addition to carrying the responsibility of being a mother, Morgan is a leader in women's sports and a champion for social causes. Combine her character with her exciting playstyle and fire pregame outfits, and it's easy to understand why legions of loyal fans hold her in such high regard.
Sports science has documented the importance of sleep, and Morgan is entrusting Molecule with the most vital component of recovery. FanNation Kicks spoke with our country's most prominent soccer mom about her new partnership and preferred sneakers.
How has your sleep changed since switching to a Molecule mattress?
"My sleep has improved a lot since I've been sleeping on Molecule for years. When I get to be at home and on my Molecule mattress - I sleep deeper, feel more recovered, and wake up less. It's tough getting great sleep all the time being a professional athlete, traveling, and being a mom, but Molecule definitely helps make it better."
Is the mattress helpful in offsetting the sleep disruptions that come with being a young parent?
"For sure, I cannot completely avoid nighttime wake-ups with Charlie, but I notice I fall back asleep quickly on my Molecule."
Do you have a game plan for your mattress when you travel?
"Other than missing my bed at home? When traveling, I try to pick better hotels, but nothing beats sleeping at home."
Since this is a sneaker website, I want to ask what's been in your sneaker rotation lately?
"I do love my sneakers. Right now, my Nike 'Panda' Dunks are a regular go-to since I can wear them for all occasions, but you cannot have enough other colors as well."
