Action Bronson Reimagines the New Balance 990v6 Again

Action Bronson's New Balance 990v6 "Lapis Lazuli" is enjoying a global launch.

Action Bronson is a man of many talents; rapper, songwriter, and chef. But the multitalented artist has developed a following in the sneaker industry. Bronson has collaborated with New Balance on multiple sneakers, and there are more on the way.

Since the New Balance 990v6 launched last year, the Boston-based brand's flagship lifestyle sneaker has played it safe in most colors. Except for when Bronson has gotten his hands on the model. Below is what fans need to know about the New Balance 990v6 "Lapis Lazuli."

Energy is the keyword for the New Balance 990v6. The streamlined, FuelCell cushioned silhouette is outfitted with a vibrantly electric colorway that’s inspired by the essential, life-giving elements of water, earth, and electricity, with a touch of classic New Balance grey added as a nod to a more expansive, cosmic sensibility.

The finished product is sporty, comfortable, vital, and specialized for life. The "Lapis Lazuli" colorway technically uses an "Eclipse with popcorn" color scheme, but Bronson is quick to remind fans of the various shades of blue used in the model.

"It's hard when you're trying to create something. It's best when things just happen. They just fall into place where they must be and the Lapis Lazuli is a perfect example of this. It's high elegance, thoughtful, harmonious.

It's like the Japanese practice of placing flowers, twigs and everything in its own nature around it in a very gorgeous and artistic way. Just pleasing to the eye. This shoe is aesthetically pleasing with every line drawn. Every little edge. The fluorescents that are hitting me from every angle. I see 15 different blues on there using only 7 blues.

This is like a mineral that's been forming over millions and millions of years and has finally just been released through chisel. It's been unchiseled from the depths of the rock. And now it's here. It's the perfect vehicle for your foot. Did I mention that there's like 15 different blues on here? Purple is blue. It's city boy blues. This is what happens. This is what happens when you're from Queens.”

Any colorway of the New Balance 990v6 is an excellent go-to sneaker for summer. But the "Lapis Lazuli" colorway is a must-have for people who want to specialize in all of life's beauty. Stay tuned to FanNation Kicks for all your footwear news.
