The future is here. His name? Anthony Edwards. His shoe? The adidas AE 1. Today, adidas Basketball unveiled the latest iteration of the iconic AE 1. "The Future" colorway showcases the cutting edge technology with a look that's before its time.
Perfectly timed ahead of this year's NBA All-Star Weekend, this latest colorway is sure to bring the energy back to basketball’s biggest stage. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard has marketed his futuristic shoe to the fullest through edgy commercials and stellar performances.
The adidas AE 1 "The Future" colorway launches on February 16 for $120 in adult sizes. Athletes and fans can purchase the performance hoop shoes on the adidas website, select adidas stores, as well as select retailers, including Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Kids Foot Locker.
"The Future" colorway features the same innovative features crafted to the specifications of Anthony Edwards, including:
- Generative Support Wing: This bold and distinct TPU design provides stability and containment, enabling athletes to play explosively in all directions while ensuring mid-foot breathability.
- Jet Boost: The full-length TPU-encased Jet Boost technology offers an enhanced experience, with smaller energy capsules fused together for greater energy return and cushion.
- Herringbone Outsole: The enlarged herringbone outsole provides superior traction, giving athletes the grip they need to dominate on the court.
The NBA All-Star Game has always given hoopers and sneakerheads plenty to talk about. Now that Edwards has officially arrived on the scene with his first signature adidas sneaker, there should be no shortage of commentary in the basketball community.
