Long before Deion Sanders accepted the head coaching position for the Colorado Buffaloes or officially re-signed with Nike, the sports icon's retro footwear was being worn in current NFL games. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray debuted multiple colorways of Sanders' signature cleats throughout last season.
While the Nike DT 96 is seemingly easy to recognize thanks to its bold design, the performance model has actually been updated and rebranded. The Nike Vapor Edge 360 DT draws most of its inspiration from its predecessor but features the Nike Vapor Edge 360 plate for speed, velocity, and ferocity.
Luckily for athletes, Nike has released the model in the same player-exclusive colorway worn by Murray last year. Below is everything online shoppers must know about the performance footwear.
Nike Vapor Edge 360 DT
The Nike Vapor Edge 360 DT was released on Friday, December 15. The cleats have already sold out in larger sizes but are still available in smaller adult sizes for $230 on the Nike website.
The Cardinals-inspired colorway features a black synthetic leather upper, sundown gold base, touchdown red accents, and white Nike Swoosh logos. Most importantly, the old-school cleats are built to perform on the gridiron and the diamond. Sanders' signature footwear can perform in the most significant moments in sports.
We are crossing our fingers that more colorways (and hopefully, trainer versions of the shoe) will be released in the future. Nike simultaneously hit the ball out of the ballpark and scored a touchdown with the design of Sanders' cleats back in the 1990s, and they have found a new generation of fans.
