The phrase “No excuse. Just produce.” is a message synonymous with the Drew League. The annual summer Pro-Am basketball tournament held in Compton, California, is a destination worthy of a pilgrimage for hoops fans everywhere.

Over the years, many of the greatest NBA players have graced the courts at King/Drew Magnet High School. However, not many participants have deeper ties to the tournament than Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden.

Now that adidas is the official league sponsor, it is only fitting that the Compton native and community leader receive a player-exclusive colorway inspired by the original Charles Drew Middle School basketball courts.

The adidas Harden Vol. 7 pays homage to the 50-year history of the mecca of summer hoops with a player-exclusive colorway. Unfortunately, that means no general release for the public.

However, the silver lining is there are several colorways of Harden's newest signature sneaker available in full-family sizing on the adidas website. The adidas Harden Vol. 7 was designed to highlight Harden's bold style on and off the court.

Harden's puffer jackets inspired the upper, while the hybrid BOOST and Lightstrike midsole serves up lightweight energy. The traction pattern supports each jump, cut, or change of direction on the hardwood.

Later this week, Harden will embark on yet another Asian tour to promote his signature adidas line. It is safe to assume that fans will be treated to more fire colorways soon. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your footwear news.
