Jared Goff Wears Air Jordan 10s in Lions Playoff Win
Sunday afternoon's slate of NFL Playoff games lived up to the hype. The Detroit Lions kept their incredible season alive with a thrilling 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final matchup of the NFC divisional round. Lions quarterback Jared Goff balled out and looked good doing it.
Goff completed 30-43 pass attempts for 287 yards and two touchdowns in the winning effort. Best of all for our readers, the veteran quarterback did it all in a clean pair of retro Air Jordan cleats. Goff signed with Nike ahead of the 2016 NFL Draft but seemingly made the switch to Jordan Brand at some point around the 2020 regular season.
Yesterday, Goff wore retro Air Jordan 10 cleats in a player-exclusive colorway that perfectly matched the Lions' uniforms. Oddly enough, it is the same pair of white, blue, and silver cleats he wore during his time with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Air Jordan 10 is one of the few models from Michael Jordan's playing days that do not get the same love as other kicks from the legendary signature sneaker line. Perhaps because its 1994 launch date coincided with Jordan's time playing baseball, or it is simply overshadowed by the iconic Air Jordan 11.
Despite sporting an iconic design that lends itself to memorable colorways, the Air Jordan 10 does not enjoy many retro releases. However, the old-school basketball shoe has found new life on the gridiron.
Multiple Jordan Brand players in the NFL have worn cleated versions of the model, such as New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
After Sunday afternoon's playoff win, Detroit is heading to San Francisco to take on the top-ranked 49ers. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your most important footwear news from the sports world.
